Gildan Activewear said Monday that it has appointed Vince Tyra in the role of chief executive to replace Glenn Chamandy who has left his position.
The Canadian apparel manufacturer didn’t release any details on Chamandy’s departure but said Tyra will take over the role, effective Feb. 12.
Crag Leavitt, who has been a board member since 2018, was appointed to serve in the role on an interim basis until his appointment.
Tyra brings with him a wealth of experience in the apparel and investment sectors. He was CEO of wholesale apparel, promotional products company alphabroder for six years, and before that, served as president of Fruit of the Loom before it was sold to Berkshire Hathaway.
