Entain said Wednesday that Chief Executive Officer Jette Nygaard-Andersen will step down from the group with immediate effect and be replaced by nonexecutive Director Stella David on an interim basis.
The FTSE 100 betting-and-gambling group said David will remain in the role until a full-time replacement has been found.
Nygaard-Andersen is credited with overseeing the company during a four-year investigation about alleged bribery at the gambling group’s former Turkish division, which the U.K. tax authority HM Revenue & Customs recently closed.
“The resolution of the HMRC investigation into the legacy business, which was sold by a former management team in 2017, offers a clean inflection point for me and for Entain. The group is now safe, stable and sustainable and I believe that this is the right time to move on to other business and career opportunities,” Jette Nygaard-Andersen said.
