Wall Street indices finished in positive territory as a sell-off in Big Tech stocks eased.
The benchmark S&P 500 closed 0.2 per cent higher in a choppy session, with the materials sector rising 1.7 per cent, making it the best performer on a day when technology was the only sector in the red.
The Nasdaq Composite advanced by less than 0.1 per cent. Meta, Amazon, Nvidia and Microsoft trimmed declines from earlier in the day but still ended lower.
Treasuries rallied, bringing the yield on the 10-year Treasury down 0.07 percentage points to 4.09 per cent. The yield on the two-year note dropped 0.07 percentage points to 4.4 per cent. Yields move inversely to prices.
