Mother’s Day is here again — and while it’s a wonderful way to celebrate the many maternal figures in our lives, the holiday can also be the mother of all triggers.
This special Sunday in May set aside to honor moms has become one of the biggest retail holidays in the U.S., so it’s hard to avoid. Americans are expected to spend a record $35.7 billion on their moms this year, according to the National Retail Federation. Hallmark estimates that people send 113 million Mother’s Day cards every year.
