Live news: China begins large-scale military exercises around Taiwan

Monday: China announces September trade figures, Singapore releases third-quarter GDP and India publishes its latest inflation data. Chinese Premier Li Qiang wraps up a visit to Vietnam. India’s Reliance Industries releases quarterly earnings.

Tuesday: The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation convenes in Pakistan. India and Indonesia release September trade data while Japanese August industrial production figures are due.

Wednesday: Central banks in Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia announce their interest rate decisions. New Zealand announces its third-quarter CPI.

Thursday: Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co reports quarterly earnings. Japan releases trade figures for September.

Friday: China announces third-quarter GDP along with other key statistics. Japan releases its September inflation data ahead of national elections. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim presents the government’s 2025 budget. King Charles and Queen Camilla begin a weeklong visit to Australia and Samoa.
