StoneCo promoted Vice President of Finance Mateus Scherer Schwening to the role of chief financial officer.

Scherer joined StoneCo as a partner in 2015, the Cayman Islands-based provider of financial technology and software solutions said Friday.

Former Financial Chief Marcelo Baldin left the role in August, and board member Silvio Morais was given the job on an interim basis.

Morais will return to the board of directors and lead the Finance committee, which will now be a separate group from the Risk committee, StoneCo said.

StoneCo also said President Augusto Lins is retiring from full-time responsibilities to a part-time senior advisory role.

These changes will take effect July 1, the company said.
