Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 2.57%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the declined 2.57% to hit a new 3-months low, while the index fell 2.64%, and the index declined 2.24%.

The best performers of the session on the were Qiagen NV (ETR:), which fell 0.63% or 0.26 points to trade at 41.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Merck KGaA (ETR:) fell 0.77% or 1.15 points to end at 147.55 and Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:) was down 1.09% or 1.02 points to 92.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (ETR:), which fell 7.37% or 1.39 points to trade at 17.54 at the close. Adidas AG (ETR:) declined 5.55% or 9.68 points to end at 164.74 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:) was down 4.88% or 3.60 points to 70.20.

The top performers on the MDAX were Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:) which rose 7.06% to 105.00, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which was up 0.22% to settle at 11.23 and Software AG (ETR:) which unchanged 0.00% to close at 31.86.

The worst performers were LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:) which was down 5.59% to 53.72 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:) which lost 5.39% to settle at 60.40 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:) which was down 5.27% to 8.66 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 2.23% to 26.64, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:) which was up 1.18% to settle at 44.62 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which gained 0.22% to close at 11.23.

The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 5.39% to 60.40 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:) which lost 4.28% to settle at 102.80 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) which was down 4.11% to 310.20 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 587 to 74 and 80 ended unchanged.

Shares in Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 7.06% or 6.92 to 105.00.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 26.90% to 19.25 a new 1-month high.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.58% or 11.25 to $1,915.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.25% or 0.18 to hit $71.61 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.44% or 0.34 to trade at $76.31 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 102.91.
