EyePoint Pharmaceuticals shares were higher after the company earlier Monday named Jay Duker as its new chief executive.
At 1:20 p.m. EDT, shares were up 12% at $9.00. Shares have surged 159% since the year started.
The Watertown, Mass.-based eye disorder therapeutics company said Duker succeeds Nancy Lurker, who held the role since 2016. Duker was previously chief operating officer.
Lurker will continue to serve as executive vice chair of the company during the transition, the company said.
Before Duker joined EyePoint, he served as both director of the New England Eye Center and chair of ophthalmology at Tufts Medical Center.
