Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.17%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the lost 0.17%, while the index gained 0.08%, and the index climbed 0.52%.

The best performers of the session on the were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:), which rose 7.73% or 25.10 points to trade at 350.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Zalando SE (ETR:) added 2.82% or 0.85 points to end at 31.01 and Merck KGaA (ETR:) was up 2.41% or 3.65 points to 155.25 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were SAP SE (ETR:), which fell 4.19% or 5.30 points to trade at 121.08 at the close. Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:) declined 1.65% or 1.20 points to end at 71.60 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:) was down 1.11% or 1.25 points to 111.20.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:) which rose 4.49% to 31.85, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:) which was up 2.87% to settle at 107.70 and LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:) which gained 2.12% to close at 64.50.

The worst performers were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:) which was down 2.75% to 136.35 in late trade, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:) which lost 2.13% to settle at 7.17 and Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (ETR:) which was down 2.05% to 8.32 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) which rose 7.73% to 350.00, Aixtron SE (ETR:) which was up 4.49% to settle at 31.85 and Siltronic AG (ETR:) which gained 2.27% to close at 74.25.

The worst performers were SAP SE (ETR:) which was down 4.19% to 121.08 in late trade, Atoss Software AG (ETR:) which lost 2.81% to settle at 224.50 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:) which was down 1.67% to 12.97 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 333 to 312 and 98 ended unchanged.

Shares in Aixtron SE (ETR:) rose to 5-year highs; up 4.49% or 1.37 to 31.85. Shares in Aixtron SE (ETR:) rose to 5-year highs; rising 4.49% or 1.37 to 31.85.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.10% to 15.00.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.25% or 4.85 to $1,966.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.56% or 1.18 to hit $76.83 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.43% or 1.14 to trade at $80.78 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 100.79.
