Balfour Beatty said it has secured contracts valued at 43 million pounds ($54.6 million) to build two new schools in Scotland.
The London-listed infrastructure group said it will build two primary schools in Craighall and Blindwells in East Lothian as demand has increased due to continuing and planned house building in the local area. Balfour Beatty has committed to provide at least 20 employment opportunities for local people, it said.
The company said construction is due to start in February with completion expected in 2025, employing 200 people at construction’s peak.
Shares at 0815 GMT were down 0.60 pence, or 0.2% at 334.60 pence.
