SÃO PAULO–Brazil recorded a current-account deficit of $230 million in October, from a deficit of $1.4 billion in September, the country’s central bank said Monday.
The 12-month current-account deficit reached $34 billion in October, from a revised $39.6 billion the month before, the bank said.
The 12-month current-account deficit was equal to 1.6% of gross domestic product, versus 1.9% of GDP reported for the previous month.
Net foreign direct investment reached $3.3 billion in October, down from $3.8 billion in September, the bank said. FDI reached $57.5 billion for the 12 months through October, compared with $60.0 billion in the 12 months through September.
