Fidelis Insurance Holdings shares were up 15% to $17.17 after the company reported fourth-quarter earnings that beat analysts’ expectations.
The specialty insurer said it had quarterly earnings of $228.3 million, or $1.93 a share, compared to $122.6 million, or 60 cents a share, in the same quarter last year. Analysts polled by FactSet were looking for earnings of $92.2 million, or 77 cents a share.
Revenue for the quarter was $553.7 million, compared with last year’s $428.9 million.
For the fourth quarter, Fidelis had premiums written of $783.9 million, up 32% from last year. Book value per share was $20.69 at Dec. 31, an increase of 13.4% compared with Sept. 30.
