Natera shares rose 4.8% to $65.94 after a patent infringement lawsuit brought against the company resulted in damages less than was being sought.
The stock is up 65% over the last 12 months.
The verdict against the diagnostics company, which faced a lawsuit from Ravgen, was for $57 million. Ravgen was seeking $410 million. The jury also determined there was no willful infringement by Natera, the company said.
Natera said the patent at issue has expired. It added that it disagrees with the verdict and plans to file an appeal.
