Any good business leader knows that risks can alter the growth trajectory of even the strongest company. But Nick Lane, a former U.S. Marine Corps officer who is the president of insurance and financial-services giant Equitable, expects the company’s 4,400-advisor wealth business to grow briskly come what may. “Maybe this is the Marine in me, but we control what we can control,” says Lane. “If you’ve got a relentless drive, you’re going to be able to push through any noise.”
