President Donald Trump showed no signs of letting up on a budding trade war during his joint address to Congress on Tuesday, vowing to usher in a “golden age of America” through a combination of tariffs, tax cuts, and reductions in government spending.

During the address, Trump revisited and doubled-down on policies his administration has pursued in its first six weeks in a blitz of executive orders, import levies, and workforce reductions that critics and some judges have said break the law.
