W.R. Berkley declared a special dividend on common stock of 50 cents a share, its third special payout this year.
The Greenwich, Conn.-based insurance holding company has now declared $1.50 in special cash dividends this year. The company previously declared one-time payouts in January and October.
W.R. Berkley also declared its regular cash dividend of 11 cents.
The company said Friday the special dividend is payable Dec. 27 to shareholders of record Dec. 18.
