Elon Musk announces x.AI

Elon Musk took to Twitter earlier today to announce the formation of x.AI.

According to the post, the billionaire’s latest venture is aiming to “understand reality,” with the announcement likely marking the official launch of Musk’s much speculated ambition to create OpenAI’s ChatGPT rival.

The details remain few, with the company’s website simply reiterating the goal to “understand the true nature of the universe,” as well as listing early team members.

x.AI did say it will be hosting a Twitter Spaces chat on Friday, July 14th, where “you can meet the team and ask us questions.”
