Midday movers: Tesla, AstraZeneca, Carnival Corp. and more

Investing.com — Stocks are rising in light trading on a shortened market day in the U.S. session. Here are the market movers for July 3.

  • Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:) shares rose 6% after the electric vehicle maker beat expectations for second-quarter deliveries, with a record more than 466,000. The stock has more than doubled this year. Rivian Automotive Inc (NASDAQ:) shares also rose 15% after it reported better-than-expected deliveries.
  • AstraZeneca PLC ADR (NASDAQ:) shares are down 8.9% after the pharmaceutical maker said the data were not mature for preliminary results of its phase 3 trial of a lung cancer treatment.
  • Carnival Corporation (NYSE:) shares were up 1% and hit a new 52-week high on Monday as investors looked positively on recent comments by management about accelerating demand. Norwegian Cruise Line (NYSE:) Holdings shares also rose 1% to a new 52-week high.
  • Apple Inc (NASDAQ:) shares fell 1% just days after it closed above a $3 trillion market value on reports it is planning to downscale production of its Vision Pro headsets.
  • Exxon Mobil Corp (NYSE:) stock inched up 0.4% after Saudi Arabia extended production cuts of oil through at least August.
