U.S. electric automaker, Mullen Automotive (NASDAQ:) announced Monday the appointment of Marianne McInerney to the position of Chief Strategy Officer.

In her newly assumed position, McInerney’s primary responsibilities will involve spearheading strategic initiatives and identifying avenues for growth across Mullen’s portfolio, spanning commercial, consumer vehicles, and governmental affairs.

“Marianne is a key addition to our team,” said Mullen CEO, David Michery.

“She brings a vast level of domestic and international OEM experience and will deliver innovative strategies to strengthen our market share globally,” he added.

Before joining Mullen, McInerney held significant positions at cutting-edge vehicle OEMs, the U.S. Department of Transportation, and the American International Automobile Dealers Association.

During her tenure, McInerney served as the Assistant Secretary and Director of Public Affairs at the U.S. Department of Transportation where she oversaw the Department’s daily communication strategies and provided oversight for nine modal communication divisions, which encompassed entities like NHTSA, FMSCA, and the FAA.

“Mullen is a strategically driven organization and its product line of advanced EVs for both commercial and consumer audiences are unrivaled,” said McInerney.

Shares of MULN are down 4.06% in afternoon trading Monday.
