Investing.com – U.S. stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in NYSE, the lost 0.42%, while the index climbed 0.02%, and the index climbed 0.50%.

The best performers of the session on the were 3M Company (NYSE:), which rose 2.71% or 2.68 points to trade at 101.72 at the close. Meanwhile, American Express Company (NYSE:) added 1.63% or 2.49 points to end at 155.44 and Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:) was up 1.17% or 0.35 points to 30.28 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Nike Inc (NYSE:), which fell 3.97% or 4.56 points to trade at 110.20 at the close. Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:) declined 2.62% or 4.01 points to end at 149.16 and Coca-Cola Co (NYSE:) was down 2.10% or 1.32 points to 61.51.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Match Group Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 6.72% to 33.98, EPAM Systems Inc (NYSE:) which was up 6.66% to settle at 263.99 and Pfizer Inc (NYSE:) which gained 5.37% to close at 38.74.

The worst performers were Signature Bank (OTC:) which was down 11.37% to 0.12 in late trade, Lumen Technologies Inc (NYSE:) which lost 7.23% to settle at 2.18 and First Republic Bank (OTC:) which was down 6.02% to 0.36 at the close.

The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Microbot Medical Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 159.35% to 3.19, Hepion Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 117.51% to settle at 19.38 and AVROBIO Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 69.01% to close at 1.31.

The worst performers were Rain Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 87.71% to 1.22 in late trade, Monogram Orthopaedics Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 36.22% to settle at 8.61 and Volcon Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 33.20% to 0.73 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1791 to 1173 and 93 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2263 rose and 1330 declined, while 108 ended unchanged.

Shares in Rain Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; losing 87.71% or 8.71 to 1.22. Shares in Monogram Orthopaedics Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; down 36.22% or 4.89 to 8.61. Shares in Volcon Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; down 33.20% or 0.36 to 0.73.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was up 2.38% to 17.21.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.37% or 7.35 to $1,974.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.61% or 0.44 to hit $72.13 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.62% or 0.47 to trade at $76.05 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.08, while USD/JPY rose 0.42% to 138.56.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 103.12.
