Donald Trump has branded Zohran Mamdani “a 100% Communist Lunatic” the day after the New York mayoral hopeful declared victory in the city’s Democratic primary.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, the US president attacked the progressive politician he said was on his way to becoming mayor.
“It’s finally happened, the Democrats have crossed the line,” Trump wrote. “Yes, this is a big moment in the History of our Country!”
The 33-year-old Mamdani, who describes himself as a democratic socialist, shocked the Democratic establishment with his victory on Tuesday and has alarmed Wall Street with his tax-raising proposals.
