Rainbow Rare Earths said it has signed a supply deal with U.K.-based Less Common Metals, aimed at developing a supply chain to the EU and the U.S.
The mining company said Monday it will supply Less Common Minerals with magnet-separated rare earth oxides for production into an alloy, which in turn will be supplied to permanent magnet manufacturers both in the U.S. and the EU.
The rare earth oxides will be supplied from the Phalaborwa project in South Africa.
