Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.76%

© Reuters. Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.76%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the added 0.76%, while the index added 0.08%, and the index climbed 0.57%.

The best performers of the session on the were Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:), which rose 3.02% or 6.30 points to trade at 214.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) added 2.62% or 6.20 points to end at 242.40 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:) was up 2.26% or 6.10 points to 276.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:), which fell 2.87% or 1.25 points to trade at 42.28 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:) declined 1.39% or 0.12 points to end at 8.25 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:) was down 1.00% or 0.41 points to 40.26.

The top performers on the MDAX were LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:) which rose 2.82% to 60.50, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:) which was up 2.09% to settle at 10.50 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:) which gained 1.90% to close at 20.95.

The worst performers were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:) which was down 5.32% to 109.35 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:) which lost 4.07% to settle at 55.40 and Befesa SA (ETR:) which was down 3.34% to 26.62 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) which rose 2.62% to 242.40, Atoss Software AG (ETR:) which was up 2.51% to settle at 204.00 and Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:) which gained 2.26% to close at 31.19.

The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:) which was down 4.07% to 55.40 in late trade, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:) which lost 4.05% to settle at 30.58 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which was down 2.06% to 80.06 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 396 to 225 and 24 ended unchanged.

Shares in Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:) rose to all time highs; rising 3.02% or 6.30 to 214.60. Shares in Bayer AG NA (ETR:) fell to 5-year lows; losing 1.00% or 0.41 to 40.26. Shares in Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.32% or 6.15 to 109.35. Shares in Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.26% or 0.69 to 31.19.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.35% to 18.05.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.35% or 6.95 to $1,987.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.78% or 0.63 to hit $80.39 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.45% or 0.38 to trade at $84.64 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.42% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 106.83.
