Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has discussed the military operations between Israel and Iran in a telephone call with US President Donald Trump, the kingdom’s state agency reported.
The two sides discussed the “critical importance of restraint, de-escalation, and resolving all disputes through diplomatic means”, according to the official Saudi readout.
Relatedly, the Saudi king has ordered the government to provide support to Iranian pilgrims who are still in the kingdom following the hajj pilgrimage and are now unable to return to Iran due to the current circumstances.
The Saudi government would “facilitate all the needs of Iranian pilgrims and provide them with comprehensive services until conditions allow for their safe return to their homeland and families”, a statement said.
